I have been asked to provide a letter of recommendation for Mr. Eric Rossi as a component of his application to the Teach for Arizona Program, and am very pleased to do so. As a teacher, coach, and community member, I have had the opportunity to interact with and observe Mr. Rossi in classrooms, on campus, on the fields of competition, and in the community for over a decade, during that time; Eric has shown his true character as a personable, sincere young man of exceptional integrity.
Eric Rossi ‘s sense of commitment to whatever endeavor he has chosen to become involved with has been evidenced both at Canyon del Oro High School, and the College of Wooster. His reliability and industriousness have contributed greatly to his success, and the successes of those fortunate enough to be around him. As a student-athlete at the College of Wooster, Eric demonstrated his adaptability and commitment to the football program by continuing as a volunteer coach following an injury that ended his playing career. In a situation when most would act out of self interest, Mr. Rossi’s loyalty to the individuals and program that he was committed to served to guide his decision.
Mr. Rossi has always acted in a fashion that has reflected his view that he is part of a greater community. He has, on several occasions worked with younger students, reinforcing the importance of learning, mutual respect, and being one’s best. Eric is a young man with the rare ability to see “the bigger picture”. It is easy to see Eric as a teacher, dealing with each student as a unique and capable individual. His ability to communicate with individuals on a variety of levels, and create an atmosphere of enthusiasm regarding the task at hand is a strength that has served him, and will serve his students well. Intuitively, Eric has the ability foster a sense of cooperation and purposefulness among those around him.
Eric Rossi is exactly the type of young man that will strengthen the educational profession. He will have an immediate positive impact not only on student achievement, but on the development of students as confident, responsible leaders of tomorrow. As teacher with over thirty years of experience, I sincerely hope that we are fortunate enough to have Mr. Rossi on our faculty In the future. As a parent of two student-athletes, I would be thankful if my children had the opportunity to interact with a man of Mr. Rossi’s character.
